    • According to his father Thomas Obituary, Here Brother James W was killed by his brother-in-law Benajmin Belleville in February 1877.

      According to the 1850 Census from Wayne Township, Indiana, Martha would of been 5yo making her birth C. 1845

      According to the 1860 from Wayne Township, She was 13 putting her birth at 1847 so she was most likely born in 1846

      I found a marriage License in Wayne County Iowa for Martha Richardson to Benjamin Belvel in January 25, 1866 so that is most likely the same one that killed James

      I have the death Certificate of Benjamin Belvel from Washington State where he died. It shows he was divorced. He is buried in Wayne county Iowa
    • January 17, 2023 - I had the Wayne County Iowa Genealogy do some research on the killing of James Richardson. They were unable to locate any new paper articles, Court Documents or any other records about this. This is not surprising since records in Iowa in 1877 was scarce. Email saved in Richardson File
