Notes - Alice Scanlan was left with her Grandmother when her family moved to South Dakota. Here Grandmother raised her in Illinois. This is confirmed by Family Verbal History and as well as her engagement stated she made her home with her grandmother.

Mrs. Alice A. Nevicosi, 78, of 1803 Oakwood, Beloit, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1988, at Fair Oaks Nursing Home, South Beloit.
She was born June 17, 1909, in Ladd, Ill., a daughter of Phillip and Julia Early Scanlan. On Feb. 18, 1939, she married John N. Nevicosi at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Ladd, Ill.
Mrs. Nevicosi was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, and the church's Altar Society. She was a former member of the Beloit Catholic Women's Club.
Survivors include two sons, John and his wife Antionette of Fond du Lac, and James and his wife Mary of Whitewater; one daughter, Mary Kay Ochal and her husband Thomas of Des Plaines, Ill.; seven grandchildren; one brother, James Scanlan of Odebolt, Iowa; and two sisters, Eileen Mixner of Arl ington, Va., and Ethel McKercher of Lakewood, Calif.; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 18, 1985, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Beloit. The Rev. Albert Schubiger will officiate. Burial will follow at Mount Thabor Cemetery, Beloit.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Daley-Murphy-Wisch Funeral Home, 816 E. Grand Ave., Beloit, where a rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
