From Odebolt Chronicle June 28th, 1923   Odebolt relatives and friends were advised the last of the week of the death of Mrs. Jacob Miller, who recently moved with her husband from Odebolt to Sioux City. Mrs. Miller suffered a stroke of paralysis nearly three years ago, and has been an invalid since that time. Monday morning, June 18, she was stricken a second time and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Peter Seier, at ten o'clock Friday morning, not being able to rally in her weakened condition. ' During the years of her invalidism Mrs. Miller has been faithfully cared for by her. husband, until her condition became such t h a t he was unable to do so alone. This spring, on April 10, he took her to Sioux City, to the home of her daughter, who has since t h a t time tenderly and devotedly cared for the, invalid,.assisted by Mr. Miller. The body was brought to 0debolt Saturday evening from the Perasso Brothers undertaking parlors, accompanied by the bereaved husband and Mr. and Mrs. Seier of Sioux City, Mrs. Elizabeth Henrich of  Armour, S. D., and Mr. and Mrs. Matt Roeder of Parkston, S. D.; the husband, Mrs. Roeder and Mrs. Seier having been at her bedside when death came, and the other children visited her during her illness. Funeral services, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Father A. G. Schaefer, were held at St. Martin's church at 8:30 o'clock Monday morning, and interment made in the Catholic cemetery. Pall bearers were: P. H. Dinges,Nick Thies, Joe Thies, John Thies, Peter Roeder and Joe Roeder. Regina Bauer was born in Baden, Germany, in 1852, and was in her 71st year. She came to this country in 18C8, to Mendota, 111., and was married at that place to Mr. Miller January 2, 1870. The couple celebrated their golden wedding three years ago last January. The family were pioneers in this community, coming here in an early day, and doing their part in the building up 'of the neighborhood in which they located. Mrs. Miller was the mother of ten children five of whom died in infancy She was a faithful wife and mother, a good neighbor and friend. She has held the esteem and respect of her many friends through the years. She leaves her husband and five children: Mrs. Mary Roeder, of Parkston, S. Dak.; Mrs. Elizabeth Henrich of 'Armour, S. Dak.; Joseph of Sioux Rapids, John of Odebolt, and Mrs. Margaret Seier of Sioux City; and one sister, Mr-s. Elizabeth Gronemeyer, and one brother, Jacob Bauer, of Odebolt. The family have the sympathy of their friends in their sorrow. All of the family were present at   the funeral.
