Notes - <p>Wall Lake Blade - April 16,1925</p> <p>Last week we mentioned the death of Mrs. John Kaiser Sr., and also mentioned the husband was a very sick man. Mrs. Kaiser died April 5, age 79 ears, 7 days. Her funeral was conducted last Thursday afternoon and following Sunday, April 12. the aged husband passed from this life. Mrs. Kaiser had been in failing health for some time and was very sick winter before last. Influenza, followed by pneumonia, was the cause of death and Mr. Kaiser fell victim to the same trouble. Katherine Kaiser, nee Reifschneier, was born in Germany, March 7, 1846. In year 1868 she was married to John Kaiser and 13 years later they came to America. In 881 they located on a farm about one mile north of where the town of herring was later established. In he year 1910 they moved to Wall take. Four children wore born to Mr. and Mrs. Kaiser. One daughter, Catherine, wife of Hugh Sweeny died Jan. 13, 1919. The three surviving children are Elizabeth, wife of Joe Dinges of Odebolt; John of the Herring neighborhood; Annn wife of John Tjaden of Wall Lake, Mr. Kaiser is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Geo. Ritter of Lake view. There are also 18 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. John Kaiser was born Feb, 14, 1840, in Germany. He died after wo weeks sickness of the same trouble that caused the death of his beloved wife. About 11 years ago Mr. Kaiser went blind. Wednesday afternoon April 15 his funeral was conducted from the Wall Lake Lutheran church, just 6 days following the funeral of his wife.</p> <p>To this aged couple to follow each other so closely in death was the expressed wish of both and the struggle and burden of earth are ended.</p> <p>Among us all Mrs. Kaiser ranked always as a woman of sympathy, a fine neighbor, devoted mother and a true friend. Her life has passed into the joy of her Lord, the memory of her life must prove a perpetual inspiration.</p> <p>Mr. Kaiser was a devoted husband and a kind and indulgent father.
