Married Ruth Aiken (b: 17 Nov 1741 in Dartmouth MA. Died 4 May 1832 in Willsboro NY), daughter of Elisha Aiken and “Miss Tripp” of Dutchess County NY. Joseph Sheldon and Abraham Aiken were the first two settlers of Willsboro (Essex County) after the Revolution. They arrived by way of Lake George and Lake Champlain on the ice, and reached Boquet in March 1784. They took lots #2 and #3 of Gilliland’s survey. Fourteen other families arrived that Spring.
