Notes - Mrs. Nicholas Thies, Sr., died at her home in this township last Sunday morning, aged 53 years, 7 months and 2 days. She had been suffering from pleurisy, and on last Thursday afternoon became unconscious and never regained her senses. Funeral services were conducted in St. Martin's church yesterday morning by Rev. Father Huesman. The deceased was born in Germany and lived for some time after coming to America near Sublette, Illinois. She came to this township with her husband in 1880. She leaves a husband and 10 children-four sons and six daughters. Two of the daughters are married, one to Jacob Bauer, the other to Joseph Konradi. Nicholas, Jr. is the only son who is married. Mrs. Thies was an excellent woman and leaves many friends to regret her demise.
